Newborn Puppy and Bird Snuggle

An adorable video of a newborn puppy and bird snuggling is so sweet it will literally make your teeth ache.

I don’t know if there’s anything more heart-melting than inter-species babies cuddling.

A teeny tiny puppy with his eyes and ears still closed holds on for dear life to a slightly alarmed-looking bird.

Despite the look of fear, the bird seems to understand the unwritten rule that if an adorable puppy is sleeping on you, you’re not allowed to move.

After a few moments, the bird seems to relax and the precious little puppy continues to snuggle the feathery friend he can’t yet see.

His wee tongue hangs out as his head moves in response to whatever puppy dreams are going through his adorable head.

A side note, scientists have actually scanned dogs brains to try and capture an image of what that is. Their goal was to better understand humans deep connection with dogs.

It’s truly incredible how much love and amusement dogs can bring into our experience. And how we are able to connect with other people because of them.

If you’re thinking about getting a dog and you want one that likes to cuddle, here are some breeds that love to snuggle:

  • Skye Terrier
  • Tibetan Spaniel
  • Basset Hound
  • Newfoundland
  • Great Dane
  • Whippet
  • Chinese Crested
  • Havanese
  • Greyhound
  • English Mastiff

“No matter how close we are to another person, few human relationships are as free from strife, disagreement, and frustration as is the relationship you have with a good dog. Few human beings give of themselves to another as a dog gives of itself. I also suspect that we cherish dogs because their unblemished souls make us wish – consciously or unconsciously – that we were as innocent as they are, and make us yearn for a place where innocence is universal and where the meanness, the betrayals, and the cruelties of this world are unknown.”
